I read a great post by Tim Sackett today.
Tim listed several benefits that result from hiring veterans that I agree with completely, such as team work, the ability to follow and give directions, the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, and skills in planning, organization, flexibility and adaptability. Isn’t this really what is wanted in an employee? The skills of a particular function can be taught. And wouldn’t it be wonderful if that was all that a new employee had to learn?
There are many companies and government agencies who are now starting initiatives to hire veterans. I started Hospitality Heroes to help veterans who have an interest in the hospitality industry find work and to start on their civilian careers.
Perhaps someday, hiring managers will realize that going after veterans is the quickest and best way to fill their positions with high-quality people. Until then, we’ll keep flying the flag at our hospitality executive search firm and connecting with and helping our vets anyway we can.

I fully support this statement “hire veterans”………
I would be very interested in this. Thank you for the information.
